Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

There a few different methods to order your repeat prescriptions:

  • Using the NHS App- This is the simplest way to order
  • Using our GP online system: PATCHS
  • Fill out a repeat prescriptions request form

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone or email

Your prescriptions will go to your nominated pharmacy electronically. You do not need to come to the practice

Please allow 48 working hours for prescriptions to be processed and ready for collection from your nominated pharmacy.

Collecting Your Prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • By using the NHS app
  • At your GP practice
  • At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Questions about your Prescriptions

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

The NHS website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

Go to Medicines A to Z (nhs.uk)

If you would like to speak to someone at the GP surgery about your prescription:

  • Send us a non-urgent query via Patchs
  • Phone the practice on 01706 397666  (option 2) after 10am Monday to Friday
